Teligent Telecom Launches ‘Smooth Operator’: Advanced Client Application to Boost Virtual PBX Service Uptake



New client app supports Teligent’s network PBX services and delivers rich call-handling functions; extends range of VPBX clients for enterprises

15 July 2010 – Teligent Telecom, a leading provider of messaging and charging services to telcos and operators, has announced a new mobile and desktop virtual PBX (VPBX) phone client, Smooth Operator. The new client gives both mobile and desktop PC end-users rich, easy-to-use call handling features, and will help to drive uptake of VPBX services for network operators.

Smooth Operator, available as both a desktop client and a mobile application, gives all business users the advanced, intuitive voice features available on enterprise landline handsets. These include full auto attendant and ACD features, hunt groups, voice VPNs, call park and transfer, and more. Smooth Operator’s GUI shows a contact’s whereabouts and status at a glance, and enables seamless routing of calls according to a person’s availability.
Teligent says the new VPBX client, together with its VPBX and IP Centrex services, gives both fixed-line and mobile operators a carrier-class solution that expands their business offering and can increase average revenue per user (ARPU). For end-users, the solution enhances employee productivity and responsiveness, especially in organisations with a distributed workforce.

Smooth Operator extends Teligent’s VPBX client range, which includes the Call Attendant, Mobile Call Attendant, Whereabouts and the Genius Operator clients. This enables end-users to choose the client that exactly matches their requirements and service usage. All clients share the same intuitive ergonomics to make call handling easy for both desktop and mobile users.

Teligent’s mobile clients are available for the iPhone, Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms.
